Description:

Besides all the convention traffic generated from the government and lobbyist groups, Washington D.C. is home to the headquarters of more than one-out-of-three professional and trade associations. Consequently, the Washington Convention Center is one of the nation’s busiest convention facilities. Located in downtown Washington between the White House and Capitol Hill, the Washington Convention Center offers 381,000 square feet of exhibit space and 70,000 square feet of meeting room space. The facility is able to accommodate small conferences or large gatherings of up to 12,000 people. A 26,000 square-foot ballroom accommodates banquet events with a seating capacity of 4,500. The facility is easily accessible via the MetroRail public transportation system.

NOTE:

March 2003 marks the opening of the new Washington Convention Center, which contains 2.3 million square feet of meeting and exhibit space. It is expected to attract 2.5 million visitors and bring $1.4 billion in economic stimulus a year. For more details visit www.dcconvention.com.
